Centaline, HKT, and Microsoft launch mobile app for property agents

Property agency group Centaline, HKT, and Microsoft Hong Kong launched a mobile app in Hong Kong on January 9, enabling agents to access the latest property information in a convenient way. By harnessing Microsoft cloud and business analytics technologies, and HKT’s mobile network, Centaline aims to triple the speed of agency service workflow.

Centaline Property invested HK$50 million in its “Centaline A+” app project. Its subsidiary Centaline Data Technology started to develop the app in-house last April.

“In the past, our agents need to carry many documents like property floor plans, pricing, and latest transaction information when they bring customers to visit properties,” said Tomy Pang, CEO of Centaline Data Technology. “The new app allows our agents to access property information virtually anywhere, anytime and on any device.”

He explained that with the app in place, property agents can provide 24/7 services such as using their mobile devices to upload property photos or video footage to the property group’s cloud-based video platform and arrange appointments with customers. With the use of Microsoft’s deep learning and artificial intelligence technologies, the app can display the most popular searched properties or latest transactions in real time.

Centaline also uses Microsoft Azure cloud and Power BI business analytics tool to help its management monitor agency service efficiency. For example, whether an agent’s upload and release of property video clips’ or his follow-up with property sellers meet management benchmarks.

To protect the privacy of property sellers, Centaline leverages HKT’s integrated fixed network and mobile communication technologies for property agents to call property sellers. They can simply press a button in the app  to connect with sellers without the need to find their contact numbers.
