WESTON – The D.C. Everest Area School District has released a free mobile communications app that allows users to access relevant DCE information in a customizable activity stream on their mobile devices.

“We’ve expanded our social media presence to ensure that families and community members can keep up with all of the DCE events, news and information they need no matter where they are — at home, work or traveling,” Superintendent Kristine Gilmore said.

Each of the district’s schools and facilities has a Facebook page and unique web presence. The district also hosts a YouTube channel and has a presence on the Instagram and Twitter platforms.

“We’ve found that our social media sites are popular with our audiences because they can access them at any time. To make things easier for families, we’ve launched the DCE App — which consolidates all of the digital and social media channels into one,” said Karen Nerison of DCE Technology Marketing and Communications.

The app allows families to follow all of the district’s social media channels, gain quick access to parent portals, check school calendars, review school menus and even dial the attendance office with just the touch of a button.

“Better yet,” Nerison said, “people can customize what features they see in the app. They can choose which schools they want to follow, what resources they want to see and what notifications they want to receive.”

The DCE App is available from the App Store and Google Play.
