Tidal released the latest update to its mobile app on Tuesday (Jan. 17), and while past incremental tweaks usually address bug fixes and minor improvements, this refresh includes a bonafide new feature. Called “Track Edit,” Tidal now lets you edit the length and tempo of a track and then save it directly to a playlist.

Creating an edited song seems easy enough: just click on the option menu on any track and choose “Edit Track.” Once there, you use simple controls to set the start and end points, and there are also toggles for tempo and fades.

“I truly love the new option to change the start/end time of a track in addition to changing the tempo,” reads the one review for the new version (1.17) in the iOS App Store. “This way, I can truly make my cardio playlists even better than before.”

This is the second new Tidal feature to emerge this month. Earlier, the Jay Z-led streaming service introduced a “master-quality” streaming option for audiophiles.
